MAKING A NEW BACK UP DISC TAKING A LONG TIME WITH WINDOWS 10 PC?

Started a new back up disc with my Desktop computer (windows 10).  Wanted a second back up I will keep in our safety deposit box...anyway started it yesterday about this time....lost the connect to the Vault 2 for some reason 3-4 hours after I started it so cannot see the "progress" on the monitor...anyway the LED light on the back up drive is still flashing as I type....is there anyway to see the progress again?  Have over 50,000 songs in the system now.....not sure how long it takes to save everything from "scratch".....Do not want to disconnect the drive from the back of the Vault 2 while the led on the drive is still flashing.   Any help would be appreciated.

  It depends on the USB drive but generally, if the LED is blinking, the drive is reading or writing...
