The 5-second power push is a 0.5 Stand By and is advertised as Vacation Mode. This effectively powers down your Player and does not have Wake On LAN. Waking it from this mode is in fact reconnecting your NODE to the network and can take up to 5 minutes to re-establish a network connection, much like a PC.

After 15 minutes of idle, the NODE goes into a power consumption mode of less than 3w idling all non-essential processes. The LAN connection stays active. This mode meets all Eco-Friendly Standards by the EU and EPA for an always-on/always ready IoT Appliance.

We recommend you leave your player on and do not put it in repetitive Vacation Mode for best performance and life of the product.

    Tony,

when you say that the Node 2i goes into standby in 15 minutes after streaming was stopped, why I can see the presence of a 44,1 KHz signal on my DAC coax input every morning when I switch it on?

    Thank you.

The NODE definitely goes into Standby after 15 minutes; I use the Trigger Out to keep a set of LEDs on, and I'd never get a wink of sleep if the NODE didn't go into Standby and instead kept the lights on indefinitely. It may be your DAC maintaining the last reading since it doesn't detect the coax being physically disconnected.

    Sam,

you maybe missed in my statement the part "the presence of a 44,1 KHz signal on my DAC coax input every morning when I switch it on". So, the DAC was switched off all night, so what you want to say with it doesn't detect the coax being physically disconnected.

I would like to have an exact answer on my question if the Node is continuously streaming or not and not speculations. Thanx

The exact answer is that the NODE goes into Standby after 15 minutes of inactivity. Pause the stream, it will stop playing and after 15 minutes will go into Standby.

I accept your explanation, but please explain what signal is present on Node coax output when this is in automatic standby. When i put the Node in Vacation Mode the DAC input reading is changing to 0KHz!
