Some questions about Node 2i and Windows
AnsweredI'm trying to understand a bit more about how the node works exactly. I want to use it from my Windows PC mostly as a digital source to an external DAC. When you install the BlueOS app on Windows, does it go through the Windows audio architecture, i.e. does the Node appear as an audio output device in Windows?

The NODE is a stand-alone Home Audio System and performs all audio processing internally.
The Apps, (regardless of platform) are mere remote controls to your network of Bluesound Players, not unlike an IR remote controlling your TV handling all the broadcast information.
If you are simply looking for a DAC for your Windows PC, Bluesound may not be for you.

Hi Richard,
Check out the (now discontinued) NAD C510. It's a hi-res music DAC that connects to your Windows PC via USB and appears as a discrete sound card in Windows. I had this setup for a while and really liked it but my needs changed so I'm selling my C510 on eBay right now.
