*Roon (Signal Path Enhanced)

Good Morning, 

Can any body please eplain what the Signal Path means using Roon?

From my undertanding, Roon is playing the file to the Pulse,  then the Pulse is enhacning it with "Cross Over and EQ" then it being played to my Pulse speaker, is this correct?

If it is indeed correct,  there is no "Cross over", or "EQ" setting in the BluOS. SO why is it being processed? Please don't get me wrong, I love the sound it is giving me, its AMAZING! however what I am asking is why does this (Enhanced Sound) not present when just running, lets say an optical,or even a line-in. 

Is this a feature that could be implemented?
