Odd issue with Node 2 and my home network
I've had my Node 2 for several years and it has functioned perfectly but an odd problem has just cropped up that I can't figure out. I curently have the Node connecting to my NAS via the it's ethernet port directly. With the ethernet connected directly to the Node, the BlusoundOS app sees the Node and I can select and play music. (NB: the wifi is not connected either).
Where the problem arises is when I insert a simple network unmanaged switch between the ethernet and the switch (so I can add more devices to the same source cable). When the switch is inserted into the chain, the app doesn't see the Node at all and any other devices also on the switch can't get any internet either although the signal lights are green.
I've tried using two different switches (one brand new) in case one of them was faulty but with the same results. It's as if the router can only see the Node when connected directly which doesn't make sense to me as any switch is supposed to be transparent.
Appreciate any ideas!

Does your NAS have two ethernet ports? If so, does it act like a DHCP server and your router does the same?
You setup should be: Router -> switch -> NAS/Node/other devices.
