My question is WHY to use the sub output at all: Today I run the sound from my Node2i via the RCA outputs into my AV receiver, which produces a very nice 5.1 soundscape. I have an Onkyo AVR with many listening modes. I have found that the THX DTS setting gives the best sound imagery and a good balancing of deep bass with a crispness to instrument details.
Now - would I gain anything from connecting my sub directly to the Node2i? So far it has been connected to my AVR with the crossover freq set to auto on the sub, and 80 Hz in the AVR, as is recommended for THX. If I run it from the Node, will I not lose the way that the amp balances the sub with the other channels of the 5.1 soundscape? (I can´t try it out now, need to buy an RCA splitter first - but what is your take?)
