Can I connect the Powernode 2i to an external DAC or an external amp?  If so, how?

  No

  The POWERNODE is an integrated amplifier with no pre-out options.

  If you are looking for a pre-amp, you should consider the NODE.

  If you absolutely must you can try with a "speaker level to line level converter" or try the headphone out, the output level might be a little higher than line level though.
