Playing tidal in BluOS vs via Tidal connect

Dear Tony and Bluesound team,

There is a debate in some hi fi forums about whether Tidal sounds different if played on a Node 2i from within BluOS vs via Tidal Connect. I am puzzled by this as how can this possibly affect sound quality since both BluOS and Tidal Connect surely just act as controllers for the Node 2i ? Is there any reason why Tidal might sound different or better when played using Tidal Connect as opposed to BluOS ?!

  Hi Marco

  The only logical explanation I can think of is if your TIDAL App is capped by a setting (you would set) to play MP3 in order to watch data usage when playing away from a wi-fi hotspot. This would theoretically be a downgrade in quality.

  TIDAL would be better source to ask that question of though.
