I'm going Bluesound! Pulse 2 or 2i as a starter standalone?

Hi all,

So after hours and hours of research (as I'm sure you're all familiar with) I've decided to go with Bluesound as my first streamer.  The Node 2i will be connected to my Outlaw Audio 2.1 receiver and I'm trying to decide what do for another speaker in the other room.

I'm trying to decide between the Pulse 2 or the Pulse 2i.  With a great price in the outlet store I thought I might go that route for my "kitchen" speaker.  :)  Or is the 2i so significantly better that I should spend double?

  Hello, 

  There are a few features added to the 21 generation Bluesound speaker. They are as follows:

  Two way Bluetooth functionality to connect to Bluetooth headphones or speaker
  Improved Bluetooth codec from aptX to aptX HD
  Support for the 5GHz wireless band
  Support for Apple's Airplay 2

  If you feel like these features would make for a much better experience, then go for the 2i. If you find you likely won't need most or all of these features, then the 2 would do just fine.

  Understood.

  If I have some Bluesound devices on 2.4GHz and others on 5Ghz, but all are still on the same network/domain:

  1.  Can they all still see each other?

  2.  Will I still be able to do multiroom-synced audio across them all

  The answer to both would be yes. Though I do usually recommend keeping the players on the 2.4 band as I do find its more reliable.
