Powernode Downmixing

Does the new Powernode do anything special in regard to down-mixing Dolby surround into 2-channels?  I am using an OREI HDA-939 to extract the Dolby audio from HDMI and sending it over optical to the Powernode. I was just wondering if there would be any difference if the OREI did the down-mixing or if the Powernode did it. 

I haven't had a chance to test this yet but figured I'd ask.

  Hi Kevin

  The DOLBY certified POWERNODE does not require a down mixer. We think you will be satisfied with our implementation.

  Oh I know it's awesome I was just curious if the Dolby downmixing process is something that's standardized and used by multiple vendors or does it vary between vendors?
