Improve readout of Genre tagging

I use my own music library on a NAS, and play the music from it via a BlueSound Node.
All works fine, but I notice the readout of the genre in the tagging is lagging in the sense that my albums that contain songs with different genre (guitar vs piano etc) are not properly read/filtered in the BluOS app.

At first I thought only the genre tagging of the first track is taken into account by BluOS, but I have an album of which the first 4 songs are tagged "string", and the last 3 songs are tagged "piano", and to my surprise the album shows up under "piano", not "string". Very confusing and hard to search my music on Genre.

Note on all the above: tagging is done properly as Sonos, (Apple-) Music and my Sony walkman all shows the albums and genres correctly.

Please improve this so that I can proper search on genre.

  I am having the same concern, but go no response 6 months ago.

  You would need to support multiple tag values for the same tag according to the vorbis comment specification in order to get that to work. Would highly appreciate it as well!

  We have both SONOS and BlueSound in use at home. Although I prefer the clean interface of BluOS (version 3), I find the poor integration of Genre in the BlueSound app hard to swallow. I mean, for a system focusing on the local library, the genre tag is fundamental. I often go back to the SONOS app to find my music.

  I wish it was the other way around, but SONOS is so MUCH better when it comes to reading tagging properly than BlueSound is. For that fact my wife still refuses to use BlueSound and honestly I can not blame her. Come on BlueSound, fix this fundamental aspect!

  Any news on this? I was hoping version 4 would at least have some improvements in the tagging area. Unfortunately not. It’s almost 2024, and BluSound is the only music app I’m aware of that cannot do proper search on the genre tag. I really miss this option and would be a reason for me to switch back to Sonos as my primary music player.
