Stuck in a 'reindexing music collection' loop
AnsweredI'm running an Apple 2022 iMac, latest Mac OS, I've got my music - some 24,000+ files - on an attached (to the iMac), Samsung T7, 2 terabyte SSD.
After the last time the Mac desktop app 'lost' the library, whenever I've tried to reindex, it gets up to 4,500, lingers for a few tantalising seconds, then goes back to 'indexing 1 song > indexing complete > indexing 50 songs...' and we're off again.
The supposedly indexed library of 4,500 songs doesn't appear on the left hand side either.
I have removed all traces of the app from my iPhone, iPad and Mac (including associated 'helper' files), factory reset my NAD C700, installed the latest app on that, installed the latest desktop app on the iMac and tried again. Same result. 4,500 songs and back to zero. I've let it run through the loop several times in a row, and get the same result.
I have tried with network shares, and local shares. Same result. I've tried with optimised art work on and off.
To say I am frustrated, is putting it mildly. As I mentioned in another - unresolved post (a bland 'answered' flare does not mean 'solved'), I have Audivana, Roon, Jellyfin all running sweet as a nut and indexing faster than I can type this. So it is not a wiring or networking or ethernet problem, it is fair and square a BluOs problem. And time you owned this 'buggy mess.'
I really want BluOs to work, because I really liked the look of the OS, and I liked the 'HR' and 'CD' designations for my files. When it worked. However, my patience is wearing thin and if this isn't solved soon, I'm gonna have to ditch it as unusable.

Hey Seppi, you replied in my post and closed comments but this isn't me - this is a different person with a similar issue.

Ah, apologies - I didn't see that. Thanks!
