Sirius/XM access issues
AnsweredDoes anyone else have an issue accessing Sirius/XM because Sirius/XM is requiring you log in? Sirius repeatedly requires me to enter my username and password. I have Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon and Sirius and Sirius is the only service giving me issues. It seems to happen monthly. Tidal, Qobuz and Amazon have never asked me to re-enter my username and password. Is this a Bluesound issue or Sirius?

Yeah, I always found this (stopped the SiriusXM account a couple of months ago). You would need to reauthorize the Bluesound services at least monthly. I didn't get an error (unless I had a channel as a preset so going straight to it), but when you chose it on the Serivces list, there would be a shorter list of options (favourites would have disappeared for example), and it wouldn't play anything until you went back into the setup screen and reentered the credentials.

Thank you Mark Chapman, you have described exactly what happens to me. I get the list of shorter options, which now indicates to me that I need to log in again. Thanks.

Last night 07/05/2023 I had to log into Sirius again and then remembered I put my problem on the Bluesound forum a month or two ago and went back and found my issue was considered 'solved'. The corrective action was to log back into Sirius XM. I know how to log into Sirius XM, but why does my Bluesound keep requiring me to log in? It is only 07/06/2023 and my Bluesound made me log back in again. When the Bluesound app was telling me to log in again, I went directly to the Sirius app, opened the app and was able to play music. What is the problem with Bluesound? It is extremely annoying because I do not remember my Sirius login off the top of my head, I have to go look it up. I have no issues with Tidal, Qobuz or Amazon music, just Sirius XM and I know it is a Bluesound issue because I proved it by opening the Sirius app with no further action needed. I love my Bluesound products but this Sirius XM is becoming unbearable.

I don't know if this is a bluesound issue, I find the SiriusXM app wants me to regularly login, and my current car seems to refresh the channel list every few days (which happens when they revalidate your services.
So I think this is just Sirius being paranoid, no doubt as everyone I know keeps letting their plan lapse to get a cheap reconnection deal (they phoned me 3 times today alone as mine has lapsed)

I have to use Android Auto in my car, so I use my phone's Sirius app. I don't have this issue with my phone, desktop or laptop when using the Sirius app. I have three Node 2i and it is driving me crazy. I'll just have to memorize my login information.

Yeah, that was a reason I used the app as well. I use (or have used) a large number of services on the Bluesound, None have this issue apart from SiriusXM, and it also happens to me on other Sirius methods, so I'm inclined to say Bluesound is doing its best, It's likely Sirius just use a short lived cookie/token so they can insure people are still subscribed

See also, SiriusXM limit actual play time to 8 hrs, so they are paranoid at how people use their streaming

I have many clients that are now experiencing this, it is such a pain in my ass. It's like SiriusXM just implemented something to do with using your login on different devices?!?! I can't find a solid answer as to what is going on or how to solve it.

The only time I need to login again is when we get power failures, which happen every so often as our city has an aging infrastructure (we were one of the first with electricity in our state) and when small animals get zapped our power flickers. This is enough to log me off. The first time this happened it took me a while to figure it out. Now I just automatically go to set up and login again. This does not happen with any of my other services, so go figure.
The other annoying this is Sirius XM will cut out every so often... sometimes it is long enough that I will switch to another service. Fortunately, I only use Sirius for background music and if I am actively listening I will switch to Deezer, Tidal or Paradise. However, if the streaming interruption is long enough I can get logged off.
