Build Home Theater with Node2i and Flex

Hi, I have seen the post https://www.bluesound.com/home-theater/

I am using the (older) Node 2i (connected with Coax to Dynaudio Focus 30XD active front speakers).
Can I just purchase 2 Flex speakers and configure them as rear speakers, using the Node 2i? 

Note: my TV is connected via toslink to the Node 2i (since the Node 2i does not have HDMI ARC).

  Hi Rob

  Home Theatre Grouping is only available with the POWERNODE 2i w HDMI, POWERNODE N330 or SOUNDBAR (all models) as front channels require DOLBY decode capability. Though the NODE N130 does have an HDMI port, it does not feature DOLBY decode.

  No you require either a POWERNODE or SOUNDBAR for the front channels.

  Thank you for your reply @Seppi.

  Can you elaborate why the PowerNode would be necessary? I use active front speakers, so I don't need power from the PowerNode, the speakers are connected using Coax digital OUT on de Node 2i currently. 

  The PowerNode nor the Soundbar have such OUT port.
