Personally I would just continue to use Coax, but if you have the cables handy and some free time you may want to try yourself and see what you prefer.

    Thanks,I will do that.Keith

    Hello Keith.
I strongly suggest to use the usb output into the Denafrips.
The connection is a asyncronic in this setup and your Denafrips is made for this.
Use a good usb cable fi Supra or Supra Excalibur.

Not trying to be argumentative, but what would I get by using the USB input on my Enyo that I wouldn't get with the existing Coax input and will even be able to hear the difference?

I stream mainly using AMZ Unlimited and Radio Paradise, but I am looking into Qobuz now that it's available in Canada now.Keith

There are measurements done on audio science review and the tester found the USB was ever so slightly poorer than coaxial but of course the difference could not be heard.

Thanks.I don't really rely on measurements,e.g.(tube gear vs solid state). I go by what I hear. Thanks,Keith

Using usb output into your galvanic isolated usb input on your Denafrips you make the Denafrips responsible for the quality of information. Your Node wil be the Slave and your Denafrips the Master. By making this setup you hear more detail en air , more background information ,more musical.
If you go for Qobuz you will hear the difference.
    Greetings

    Thanks Jacob:

Not really looking to spend anymore for a while,as I just sprung for the Enyo,so would I hear a difference going with a cheap generic no name USB cable? Thanks,Keith

    Probably you would !
    Just give it a try.
And I'm happy for all Canadian people who can go for Qobuz now.
Have a nice day ( almost over here in Europe)

Hallo Keith. Disconnect the Node from the coax . Press USB on your Denafrips and go to your Bluos app , go to settings and go to Audio , choose usb.
In yourBluos app you will see " Denafrips" will appear

I have the Denafrips Ares2 connected with Coax. After comparing, I find the Coax to be more refined, less etched than the USB input. I have the same results with my other streamer options as-well.

If you put it like this , you're saying that the clock in the Buesound does a better job then the clock in the Denafrips.

Actually, I am saying the Coax is implemented better than the USB in the Ares2.

If you like coax better then it's better for you, simple as that. If you like it you can read what others think of usb on Vinshine audio. For me it is important to take full advantage of the Denafrips (Hermes DDC and Pontus2 in my case). With usb the timing in my setup is better, more musical and rhythm and pace is better than coax. Coax gives a fatter layer and I can imagine that people with Monitor speakers find this more lifelike and like to exchange it for airiness and spaciousness.

Everyone has their opinion. But of course your`s must be the correct one.

I am the OP and to be honest,I can't really tell which I like best,USB or Coax. It's not a night and day difference and for me,it's not easy to tell unless it's obvious, much like comparing Standard Definition vs High Defintion or DVD vs Blu-ray,easy to tell the difference(seeing is believing),but audio is different for me.Maybe my mid- fi rig is not resolving enough?!

Not sure if it's my cheap usb cable,or if my Enyo is not fully burned in,maybe the USB input is not burned in(not really sure about that one)...I dunno, but I don't feel like dropping more coin on a better USB cable if I can't tell which input I like best...guess I will just have to listen to it.

With USB,bass on one track in particular "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish seems way more and bloated, but that's probably just me and the 'new' sound from usb...I dunno! Thanks,Keith

Thank you for your clear explanation. I understand your Enyo is brand new? My Pontus2 took an annoyingly long time to get to sound. Maybe don't listen too critically for the time being and try again in 500 hours. Maybe you can borrow a nice USB cable from someone to try?
Don't get me wrong , a good coax can sound really good too !!

Yes I do recommend listening to both inputs. I can recommend a very good sounding and affordable cable Coax or USB is the Monolith by Monoprice.

Not new,but only 6 months old,so could be it needs burning in more.I will stay with the usb cable for a while and see(hear)if I can get my brain used to the new sound.

It also has the 'old' firmware, which I will keep,as I read, lots of peeps don't care for the new update(12th),but some do. Thanks,Keith

I have swapped out the cheap USB cable for a $300 USB I was using in my other system( headphone rig),so I will see(hear) if I can tell any difference, but I guess I should wait till Enyo gets burned in properly.Keith

I went for the the 30 day free trial of Qobuz yesterday and I listened for about 3 hours straight and to be honest, with my ears and my gear,I could not tell any appreciable difference between Amazon Unlimited and Qobuz. I will play with it for about another week and I will most likely just stay with AMZ.

Maybe the music I prefer(rock, progressive rock) has something to do with it,but,I dunno! Thanks,Keith

    Hallo Keith
I'm not familiar with Amazon Music so can't tell which one is(subjectively) better.
    Enjoy the music !
    Thanks
    Jakob
