Well, I did not. But way I did after reading your post was to nix the mp3's and go straight for the FLAC files. And from what I understand FLAC (compressed WA) files don't have any metadata.

I unmounted the MP3 directory and mounted the FLAC directory onto my NODE. No playlists are involved here. This s jus ta straight reindexing of all of my FLAC files.

So, ThirdEyeBlind is still MIA. It is still NOT in the list of Artists.

I'm not sure what's going on here, but I still suspect that there are more artists that are missing.

I don't know if anyone would consider 2172 albums to be a large collection of music. Could that be too many albums for a node to handle? And when you get too large does it drop (i.e. does not index) random artists from be included?

I can play all FLAC and MP3 songs on my MAC using mplayer. iTunes doesn't support FLAC. Here's my process:

I rip cd/s using iTunes. copy the WAV files to the sever and then convert them FLAC. Then on the MAC, I will then convert the FLAC files to MP3 on my MAC using lame. There really isn't any meta data in any of my music files. No art work at all. See attached image from iTunes.

iTunes to rip CD to WAV. I use FLAC to convert WAV ---> FLAC and then from FLAC ---> WAV. Then I use LAME to convert to MP3. I've been doing this for year and my Sonos can handle all of this. But the Sonos must be 15-20 years old at this point and so Decided to give Blusound Node a try, but the Node has been problematic for me from the start.

I keep the FLAC around for higher quality.
