TV sound output setting advice
AnsweredHi, I have a Virgin tv box connected to my tv which is connected via optical cable to my Powernode (N330). I have a pair of speakers and a subwoofer.
I have 2 questions.
1. In my Virgin sound settings I have the choice of PCM (stereo) output or 5.1 Dolby Digital. Which should I use for the best sound processing? I know the Powernode can process Dolby signals but I am using a 2.1 set up. Any advice welcome. Thank you.
2. Related to this, I am using the setting “Subwoofer on” on the Powernode (with the corresponding high and low pass filter applied). Does this affect any Dolby signal processing and if so, should I turn the setting off (which allows full range signals to both my speakers and the subwoofer)? Again, many thanks for any advice.

Hi Alastair
Set your cable box to Dolby. Your Bluesound POWERNODE is Dolby compatible and will remix as a 2.1 experience as per Dolby's specifications. You want your subwoofer set to ON in the POWENODE Audio Settings menu.
