Support for Indexing issues - sorry but needs to be resurrected
AnsweredHi Tony,
With regard to your closing statement on this subject about a year ago.
Thank you all for your feedback
After a lengthy evaluation to remove the log file access to the general public, we made the decision to do so in mid-2020. We have revisited the decision to remove log file access after 3 months, 6 months and 1 year since doing so. We are satisfied with the results and stand by this decision,
Since then we have expanded information in a more easy-to-read format in the exiting Diagnostics page, and consider the matter resolved.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Can you point me to what has been expanded in the Diagnositcs area that helps determine
1. If there has been an indexing problem (it is not always apparent)
2. Where that problem might have occurred (ie in what filename and better still an offset into that file name to aid subsequent diagnosis)
3. Also What actual characters does BluOS accept in valid folder and file path names.
UTF-8 and UTF-16 is not a standard that defines these (they are for translating Unicode to binary) - it will be a propriety issue with BluOS unless you can refer to a published standard used for, say, Windows Operating system.
I'm sure you will understand the frustration that this absence of a suitable diagnostic presents to even advanced users of your product let alone non technical users. I hope you can qualify your comment above and fill the hole this situation presents in an otherwise superb product.

Hi Trevor
I see you currently have a series of Requests with us. I have escalated your issue to a level 3 Support Crew Champion who will be in touch regarding your unique issue.
Really quickly, we support UTF8 but understand how classical music can be tricky.

Hello Tony,
After some protracted time I have resolved the issue around Wagners Ring Box sets. I beleive I did notify the support crew of this a few hours ago.
The issue still remains of the difficulty resolving this sort of problem without suitable diagnostics. It seams Bluesound have rather left those of us who could make use of these diagnostics to our own devices.
However thank you for replying to me here. Uploading CDs each time there is an indexing issue isn't really a practical solution.
Regards
