If your son i using Spotify, there is an option in the Spotify app; "Show local devices only" that will limit access.

Looks like he's using a VPN to login to your network so changing the wifi/network password may not change anything. VPN access is most likely to be configured in your modem or any other internet equipment there is in your house that can provide VPN access, like a seperate router/NAS/Raspberry PI/his desktop PC which he leaves powered on, etc. Seems like he's more tech savy than you are so whatever you will do, he'll find a way around it. A good talk may be the best option here :)

    Hi Bodi, Bjorn,

Thanks for your help. So, the Node is connected to a wireless router (itself connected to my internet service provider's modem) with a cable. I'm wondering if I unplug the cable from the Node, and then restore it to factory settings, then connect it only with one wireless network, and then change the password on that network to something new if that would do the trick? And, yes, my son is using Spotify; the problem is: I don't. I use Tidal.

Sigh. This is a major design flaw with this product. An administrative set up would be good. Alternatively, allowing me to remove Spotify from the allowable music apps on the node would also work.

As it is, I've had to write him out of the will, and switch back to CDs . . .

Changing the password on your Wi-Fi would not help in this case.
    Workaround:
Create a Spotify free account, log in to that account and do the changes. He should then be able to play while in house, but not remotely.
You will also have the option to remove access on the Spotify website if needed.

    Bjorn,

Okay, thanks. So I opened a free Spotify account, added it to the BluOS app/controller. I went in to settings, found "Devices," and toggled "Show local devices only" to on. Is that all I need do? Hopefully it is. I'm not sure how to go about "removing access" on the "Spotify website," or even precisely what that means in terms of whose access I'd be removing . . . But I'd happily do that too, because nobody apart from him uses Spotify, and certainly not me. Thanks again! This was a big help.
