Can not connect Vault 2i
AnsweredJust bought a Vault 2i. I can not get it connected via IOS or PC app. IOS app just says looking for players then tells me to go to settings and WiFi and select my player. Vault does not have Wifi.
My Vault 2i is connected via ethernet to my network and lights are all solid blue, however both IOS app and MS app both indicate no player found. Is the vault not a stand alone device? I have tried all the restarting suggestions. Seen something about check router settings - what exactly am I looking for? Very frustrating.

You don’t say how your PC is connected but if it’s using Wi-Fi can you temporarily use Ethernet to see if the Vault is found?

I have tried it both ways. The last attempt was with both the vault and my PC plugged in via Ethernet cable to the back of my WiFi router. I have also tried it with the vault via Ethernet into the WiFi router and the PC via Ethernet into my switch.

Must be something amiss with your network / configuration, you may want to look at your Routers admin page and look to check what IP address has been assigned and type that into a browser. The Blue LED won’t go Blue unless it has a connection so that implies it’s at least working.
If you know your way around your router look to see if Multicast (mDNS) is Enabled.

I have a Netgear nighthawk r6900. I logged into it and can see an additional wired connection when I plug the vault in. It has an IP address and. MAC address assigned and status says allowed. When I launch the BlueOs app on PC it still can not find the vault. I do not see anything about mDNS in any settings.

It is set up in AP mode

That got me into the Home Screen for the vault. I am now at the vault 2i-7D08 Control Panel

Ok, this does indeed show there is a router / networking issue as the Vault is not discoverable by the App, the long name is the factory default indicating it has not yet been setup.
Fire off an email to Bluesound and I am sure they will be able to assist.

I did an update to the vault . Now when I use the app on the PC it initially says looking for players. I then see settings and help. When I click on settings then custom installation then room names- I see Room 1
Model and IP:VAULT 2i - (with correct IP address)
Then in the grey box it says VAULT 2i-7D08iOS app still can’t find anything

I see in diagnostics that I can “force hotspot mode” what is this?

This is for resetting / reconnecting Wi-Fi enabled BluOS devices.
