Cannot connect to Time Capsule with password having a comma
AnsweredHi,
Sharing my experience on the forum as I didn't find a similar topic on this yet.
I encountered problems connecting the Node 2 to my Time Capsule NAS. It would not find the Time Capsule automatically, but would also not accept a manual entry of the address. I tried accessing the Time Capsule from a Linux laptop (I don't have Windows here at home), which also did not work.
Eventually found the Node 2's log files, which showed half of my Time Capsule password in clear text, which was a clue that the password did not get passed to the NAS correctly.
I changed the password to having no special characters and all worked fine using a manual entry of the address.
Doing some more research, it seems that the linux SMB client used by the Node 2, as well as my laptop, does not support a comma in the password.
As this is not documented in the Node 2 manual or on the forum, I thought to mention this, hope it helps other Mac users as special characters in passwords are handled perfectly fine within the Apple ecosystem.

Hi Jeroen
Thanks for the feedback. Generally speaking commas and other punctuations characters is relatively new to the SMB (Windows File Sharing) stack only being introduced in beta builds 2 years ago and only widely accepted recently. This problem will go away in the near future as we add low level kernel fixes and updates as part of our release cycle.
Thanks for the tip though.
