TV compatibility with ARC hdmi port question
AnsweredHi,
I'm considering powernode(or edge) network streamer with digital amplifier as a substitute for internal tv speaker.
My TV is a kind of old model from LG (65UJ6540) and according to their spec sheet, this TV only has HDMI ARC port instead of eARC in addition to Digital Audio Out (Optical) port.
I've seen some discussions regarding sync delay issue (from 50ms to XXX ms?) due to it's network speaker function. My understanding is this delay was intrinsic and(or) intended by developer. So,
- Is it Ok to connect with HDMI ARC without sync delay issue?
- Optical connection between powernode(or edge) and TV is also available?
Thanks.

Hi DOK
eARC is backward compatible with ARC. Grouping delay compensation will occur regardless of connection type, optical or HDMI ARC.
The 50ms delay is a full disclosure statement by Bluesound and is measurably on the low end compared to multiroom systems in the industry. The vast majority of wired traditional AV Systems will average between 30-35ms delay in audio to video and is normal but generally unperceived.
