Release an API so fans can create the features you refuse to
AnsweredI am transitioning from Squeezebox to Blusesound. One thing Squeezebox had going for it, was the ability for end users to code for the app. Many good plugins were created and several of these were copied by Logitech or Slim Devices before it. That is how we got the Archive.org plugin that was eventually made official by the dev. team. Several of the on going requests could probably be solved this way. I'm sure that after approx. 8 years of folks asking for RANDOM ALBUM (Album Shuffle), this would have already been solved by the community by now. PLEASE IMPLEMENT THIS!

HI Martin
A public API for custom installers and DIY integrators can be found at www.bluesound.com/downloads

It's not much of an API; allows clients to skip a song, similar trivialities.
A real API should allow deep integration such as managing the library, favourites, etc.

Derek points out the real situation here. I feel your response is a bit disingenuous. Given the discussions that have taken place previously about album shuffle etc. the API in question is a joke.
Hopefully the upcoming software / firmware has MANY of the features users have been begging for for years now, as the API as it stands is not going to help.
