Conecting Node 2i to switch ethernet
AnsweredHello friends, I currently have my Node 2i connected by Wi-Fi to the router of the telephone and internet operator, also my desktop PC is connected by cable to the router, everything works very satisfactorily. Even so, I would like not to have to start the desktop PC to listen to the music stored on the internal SSD, nor is it convenient to wait for indexing rear USB of the Node.
My question is if it is possible to connect the Node to a ethernet switch and to the same ethernet switch connect a laptop PC or a small PC or similar. It is about using the storage unit of the PC connected to the ethernet switch without it being necessary to turn on the desktop PC, connect to Wi-Fi, etc... I understand that if there is no access to the home network, obviously there is no access to the IP radios. In this case I am only interested in accessing my library.
Thank you very much.
Apologies for my computer ineptitude. :-)

Thank you very much for the answer and contribution. I have the Bluesoud quite far from the router, therefore it has to work without wired access to the network. I have thought that the best option could be to have the PC+switch+Node 2i system. In this way I would obtain a good and stable speed of access to the FLAC library by cable.
I understand that to use a NAS it has to be connected by cable to the router, ................... it is at the other end of the house.0 -
Thank you very much, I'm beginning to understand, I'm a bit slow and stupid when it comes to networking...
