You can absolutely connect Bluesound devices to an Ethernet switch. To connect to other network devices it has to be routeable so needs an IP address and a router on the network.

Why not look into purchasing a NAS, they are small, quiet and use little power and would work brilliantly with multiple Bluesound devices.

Thank you very much for the answer and contribution. I have the Bluesoud quite far from the router, therefore it has to work without wired access to the network. I have thought that the best option could be to have the PC+switch+Node 2i system. In this way I would obtain a good and stable speed of access to the FLAC library by cable.
I understand that to use a NAS it has to be connected by cable to the router, ................... it is at the other end of the house.

PC+switch+Node 2i system - You would still need a router for this combination and then have to use the PC as the controller as it would be separate from your main home network.

If your Node 2i connects using Wi-Fi without issue then a NAS wired to your router will work with any BluOS devices you buy.

Thank you very much, I'm beginning to understand, I'm a bit slow and stupid when it comes to networking...
