HDMI arc doesnt work

My soundbar is connected by hdmi (cable which came with the soundbar) to the tv (LGOLED55C16LA) and nothing is connected to the optical-in. The hdmi is set to auto sense on the app and on the tv e-arc is disabled (enabled makes no difference). When I turn the tv on there is no sound coming from the soundbar, if I look on the app it says the soundbar is on its optical source and I’ve to either manual change it in the app to HDMI or turn the tv back off and on again. This should not be how it works. Can anyone solve this problem?

  Please review your TV documentation - the eARC port must be enabled nd the SOUNDBAR must be connected to that specific HDMI port.

  I did. I connected everything the right way. I just tested and somehow it works now. I hope it stays this way!

  I’ve been struggling with this as well but found out that unplugging/plugging the soundbar’s power connects back the TV HDMI

  Also. For my LG 4K TV, I have to go into the spound menu, click on HDMI (ARC) device, and then sound will pass through from the N130 to my external DAC and audio system.
