Genre selection does not show what I expect
AnsweredMy local library (NAS) is perfectly tagged, including “genre” for each individual song.
When I select a genre in BluOS, for instance “electronic”, all albums containing songs with genre “electronic” are presented. So far so good.
However, when I select one of the albums, it shows ALL songs on the album, also the ones that have a different genre.
I’m not used to that, I expect to see only the songs with genre “electronic”. Like iTunes, Sonos and my Sony Walkman do it. Is there a setting or so in BluOS that can help me?

Hi Maurice
Please select Help, Diagnostics, Rebuild Index to purge and rebuild your existing Local Library Database rather than just a Reindex Collection. Once complete, please retest to ensure all music is appearing in your Local Library.
Regarding your primary concern, the genre tag is being displayed in BluOS to the Album, not the individual songs.

Update:
I noticed not all albums are correctly indexed by BluOS, also not after a rescan of the library.
Some albums that contain songs with genre "electronic" are not showing up when I select genre-electronic.I'm sure the albums are correctly tagged, and they show up on Sonos and iTunes. BluOS does see the albums, I can play them as well, but just the genre is not recognised for some reason.
Is this a known issue?0 -
Just to let others with the same issue know: I got confirmation from the Bluesound team that indeed this is a known issue. Albums containing songs with multiple genres are not always properly displayed when searched via genres
