    Hi Joshua

CEC is an all-or-nothing implementation across the industry. Consider disabling CEC on the NODE by selecting, Settings, Player, Customise Sources and under HDMI, turn off Auto-Sense. You can then program the NODE to select HDMI using traditional IR commands from your remote. Here's how; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/articles/206809498

The INCOMING commands are all or nothing. What the NODE does with them is not! The software in the NODE decides what to do with each command, and I am certain that it would be possible to check a flag and decide whether to respond to the mute command accordingly. I write this as someone who has personally written software for a microcontroller to listen to CEC commands from a TV and convert them into actions (in my case, IR commands to a different component).

Also consider that NOT ALL TVs send out a mute command when you power them off. This is NOT STANDARD ACROSS THE INDUSTRY, as I'm pretty sure I've seen other responses from you in these forums that would indicate exactly this.

Not all remotes are IR. The remote for my Sony Bravia TV uses Bluetooth. It's not possible for me to implement a workaround by listening for signals from the TV remote.

In my view, by far the easiest way to address this specific complaint, one that I know for certain that I am not alone in having, is by compensating for Sony's deviation from the norm by simply choosing to ignore the extra command their TVs send. One checkbox in the UI and half a dozen or less lines of code in the logic.

Thanks for the feedback, however, it is impossible to filter commands based on what is intended vs what are errors being sent.

To clarify, CEC is an industry-standard across the board, BluOS implements. We have known SONY to be, as you suggested not always interpreting those standards correctly. It may be best to work with SONY to resolve those but we have heard some consumers adjusting the stand-by settings in their SONY TV to correct issues with ARC,

It may be best to speak with the TV manufacturer that is sending the errant commands.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Are you saying that giving your own users the option to mute on your own equipment is somehow deviating from the CEC standards?

Are the commands being sent out by the TV really "errant"?

I'm confident that there are no settings on the TV that will disable the mute command that precedes going to standby. I spent a lot of time with this in my own project.

I'm starting to see why the other people in this forum express frustration so often.
