Network Share - Chromebox
The internal hard drive on my Vault2 went kaput (7+ years old). I would like to set up a network share using the audio files on my chromebox. There is a lot of guidance to do this on mac or PC, but zilch when it comes to a chromebook/box. Any ideas on how I can set this up? Thanks.

'local' files in your Chromebook are actually almost always stored on your Google Drive as Chromebooks have less than 64GB of storage (less than most phones or tablets). You cannot access files directly from the cloud in BluOS.
Consider contacting support@bluesound.com to find out repair options for your VAULT or downloading content to true local storage such as a USB drive connected to your Player.

I think that you misunderstand my question. I am not asking whether I can access "cloud" files on my Vault2. A Chromebook has "local" storage in the same way that a Mac and a PC do. My chromebox is connected to my home wifi network (in the same way that a PC or Mac would be able to do if I owned either). Since either a Mac or PC can create network shares that my Vault2 recognizes, how do I do this for the Chromebox so that the Vault can play "local" files that are stored on my Chromebox? Thank you.

I do not know of anyway to actually share Chrome drives, can connect to external sources but that is not what you want to do. You could wipe the Chronebox and install a lite Unix distribution but then it will no longer be a Chrome device.
Getting the Vault repaired as Tony suggests is a better bet or purchase a NAS. In the UK Western Digital often have decertified NAS devices for under £100.

The warranty on my Vaul2 has long since expired and Bluesound already refused to provide a repair.
Chromebooks allow you to install a unix distribution on your device. It runs in its own sandbox. If I did this on my chromebox, how would I be able to set up a network share? Thanks.

There are guides on the internet to do this, but I will be blunt in saying that the chromebox running an emulator and file sharing is either going to be awfully slow or not work at all.
