Node N130 USB out
BeantwortetHello,
I wish to use the node as a streamer only and bypass the dac.
I read you can use the usb out to send the digital signal to an external dac.
What I don't get is that apparently you can only stream 24bits/192khz at most.
Is there downsampling in case of a 32bits/384khz source for instance ?
Would it be possible to update the software of the node to make it a "bit perfect" streamer if you bypass the dac ?
Best wishes

Hi Sebastian - your Bluesound NODE is a bit-perfect streamer and does not upsample or downsample content. It is however limited to 24/192 playback.

Hi Tony - thanks for your answer.
I got confused because the internal dac of the node is given at 32bits/384khz. So I thought streaming could somehow cope with inputs at this level of resolution.
My dac is actually 32bits/768khz so I would have welcomed more resolution for streaming.
Though I understand that there is little (or no) content higher than 24bits/192khz ...
Best wishes,
Sébastien

This is really the driving force... in fact, anything you would see in this resolution that would come out before major recording studios upgrade their equipment would be in fact upsampled - therefore technically distorted. This would also include analogue recorded content given how much has already been digitised over the past few years to 24/192 as the baseline.
