Multichannel Dolby Digital Plus not decoded properly
BeantwortetHi,
There's a problem with multichannel Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC3), it's incorrectly decoded and the surround channels are completely silent. Nothing is passed through them.
I've got a NAD M17 V2i and whenever I play back Dolby Digital Plus I can only head audio from my front L R speakers. I'm not sure if center channel is passed through because I don't have one, I'm running phantom center mode and that channel is mixed into L R channels.
The M17 correctly displays Dolby Digital Plus with 3/2.1 channels on its OSD.
Listening mode is set to Direct.
So it's definitely detecting all the channels, but it's not mapping them all... not the surrounds.
And the surround channels are definitely not empty because I've converted the audio file to plain Dolby Digital (AC3) and the surrounds came to life.
There's some incorrect channel mapping going on with Dolby Digital Plus and it's the case for any streaming channel (Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, etc.)... so it's most definitely a codec issue.
Could someone please look into this?
It should be fixable through a firmware update.
It's very frustrating to convert the audio each time I want to watch something with Dolby Digital Plus.
Thank you.
