Super loud - cannot play at anything > 50% volume

Hi all, got a Powernode N330 yesterday and hooked up Dali Oberon 5's to it. I'm very new to 'high quality' audio, so I could use some opinions/feedback from others with a little more experience.

When playing Spotify (or anything really) I noticed that I had to keep the volume slider way on the low side.

By itself not a problem, but I'm curious if this is normal behaviour and expected, or if it might be indicative of a potential issue.

What I did to solve is play around with the Audio Setting > Volume Limits, however my curiosity why the initial settings made it impossible to play at anything over >50% volume remains!
