SVS Subwoofer Integration with Hegel and Node/BluOS
BeantwortetHi Team,
Have recently up upgraded to a Hegel H120 and Node (2021).
What is the best way to integrate my SVS SB2000 Pro into the system?
I have a coax out from the Node into the Hegel.
Then, 2 subwoofer cables from the Hegel line outputs L/R into the SVS inputs L/R(inc LFE).
I believe the connected cables are correct, the questions is, what is the right way to treat the settings in the apps?
Currently, I have the Node BluOS set to subwoofer "off" and in the SVS app Low pass filter is ON (LFE is disabled).
Refer images.
Prior to this setup, I was using a Powernode, so same BluOS but without using the Hegel, and only had one subwoofer cable from the SUB out of the powernode into the LFE of the SVS - with my CURRENT setup, I can definitely feel that the bass is lacking, it is not as dynamic as before and it doesn't seem right given the significant upgrade in power amp...
Should the SVS be connected directly to the Sub out of the Node instead of the Hegel?

Hi Dimitri,
In this case, we suggest connecting your subwoofer to the Hegel amplifier. The Node sends full signal to the Hegel via Coax and the Hegel will be the one to control the subwoofer. The Subwoofer on the Node should be turned OFF.Subwoofer (On/Off) - turning this setting ON will apply a high pass filter to the RCA and Speaker Out (where applicable) based on the crossover set. Leaving this in the OFF position will send full range out of the RCA and Speaker Outs. Note that the SUBW OUT output will not be affected by this (this output will always be active) nor will it set a filter on the Digital Outputs (applicable to NODE and VAULT only)
Crossover: this will allow you to adjust the crossover between 40Hz and 200Hz; anything below your set crossover will be sent out of the SUBW OUT of your player. If the Subwoofer switch is set to ON (as mentioned above), everything above this crossover will be filtered out and sent to the RCA and Speaker Outputs.
Please note that these settings apply to subwoofers connected via wire to the Bluesound player's SUBW OUT port and may not reflect on wirelessly paired subwoofers.
Hope this helps and thank for living HiFi!
