    Hi,

Thanks for the comment. I will pass this on to our development team for future consideration.

    Thanks for living HiFi.

I've been requesting this for years and they've been "considering" it for years. It's been an incredibly frustrating process. I literally have a separate Bose bluetooth speaker in my kitchen, only so I can push LivePhish audio to a speaker.  I can't play Airplay anything from the LivePhish app to the NODE in my main listening room, or any of my PULSE 2i or Mini speakers I have set up in my house. Had I known this in advance of purchasing, I probably would have went with a different connected speaker option.

There is no reason it should not be compatible given the Nugs.net compatibility and the Livephish platform is run by the same company.

Yes, I thought the same when I submitted my initial support request for this over three years ago. I also reached out to LivePhish, who was actually quite responsive, but in the end they punting things back over Bluesound's way saying the issues weren't on their end. Still waiting...

I struggle with the same thing.  I can't use my Bluesound speakers with LivePhish.  It is maddening.

I have been asking for this as well. That said, I can tell you what I've done to support all of the services I want that aren't Bluesound native. I got a cheap gen1 Sonos Connect (can be had for $50 on eBay) and plugged it into one of my Nodes optical input. Boom. All Sonos services are now bluesound enabled. Biggest limitation was needing to set the zone master to the Node that has the Sonos connect attached to it, which is being solved by the HUB when it arrives later this week. It is not ideal juggling 2 apps, but it is far better than the Bluetooth speaker route some are suggesting. Also, all bluesound products support AirPlay and Bluetooth as targets... Why not just bluetooth / AirPlay to them?

Bluetooth/Airplay on Bluesound devices won't play anything pushed from the LivePhish app. For some reason the connection freezes the player at the source, causing it to buffer non-stop. I could honestly care less about a full LivePhish app integration (although that would be nice) - all I really want is ability to play something from the LivePhish app through my Bluesound system via bluetooth/Airplay. That's currently impossible.

I'm checking in with the same problem since my Sonos Connect died. Cannot AirPlay from LivePhish iOS app to any Bluesound airplay targets.

If Phish are not allowing their App to be cast by AirPlay or BT that is by design in their App.

The app allows both options, but neither work with BluOS AirPlay targets specifically. It continuously toggles between a play/pause state. I sent a video of the behavior to your support team. Not surprisingly their first response was once again blaming my network.

    Hi Craig

    I have taken a quick look at your history. Our Quality Assurance Department are also big fans of UniFi but have found some performance tweaks you may benefit from. Please review your Ubiquiti documentation;

Since you have 8 APs, in the Ubiquiti App on both the 2.4 and 5 networks, please disable Minimum RSSI to prevent devices from hoping from AP to AP on borderline devices located between APs.

Also on the Site settings, please disable Auto-Optimise Network

All of my BluOS devices are hardwired. I understand that tons of your customers have problems that are directly related to their network's inability to handle the way that you have decided to implement mDNS discovery between players, but that is not the problem in my network. My network is also not the reason that I and user Joonathankeller cannot AirPlay or bluetooth from the same specific iOS app to a Bluesound endpoint, even though that app works fine with other bluetooth devices and AirPlay endpoints from different manufacturers.

@Tony - The LivePhish App DOES allow casting via Airplay and BT!

I can cast to ANY BT enabled speaker I own. I can also cast to ALL my Airplay devices (Sonos speaker, AppleTV, TV Soundbar, etc...).

For some reason, the Bluesound devices are the ONLY devices that don't work! It is not the App.

Is it too much to ask for someone at Bluesound to actually download the LivePhish app (they offer a free 7-day trial) and then attempt to push the music to your own devices?

What is the point of having LivePhish HIFI if I have to play over Bluetooth?  I want to be able to stream the full lossless sound through my Bluesound.

I have been following this issue for years now. I have the same exact issue as everyone above. Livephish works on BT and airplay, all devices, just not airplay to bluesound. It has been incredibly frustrating, and I really hope someone from tech support will download the livephish app and see what we are talking about. I am also very disappointed to have set up my system around bluesound only to never hear my favorite band hifi on my awesome home stereo system.
Please! ..and thank you for working on this issue.

    David

Any updates on this issue?  I have the same problem as described by others.  One additional thing I noticed is that I have the same problem with the Nugs.net IOS app not working through airplay to my node.  Since there's a native connection with Nugs.net in BlueOS I just use that.  However with nugs.net developing both their own app and the live phish app I'm wondering if there's something in common with both apps that's the issue.

    BluSound: please understand this.

Phish just had to re-upload their entire New Year's Eve run audio. Their on the fly mix sounded so bad, and their fans hounded them so mercilessly online, they ultimately stepped up and fixed it.

Please dont make us hound you too. Step up to the level of your sister companies NAD and PSB and either hook us up a LivePhish integration like Nugs (on which its built), or tell us its a LivePhish problem and we will go hound them some more.

    Thanks.

I finally got around to seeing if this could work and I am truly and honestly astonished... 'gobsmacked' as the brits would say.

    1) You already have nugs.net integration. LivePhish is run by the same people and one can only assume it is running off the same backend (but OK, maybe not). But assuming yes, the technical aspect to solve this (via integration) should be fairly straight forward and not require many hours of BluOS or LP engineering time.

    2) Perhaps more importantly (to Bluesound at least), this is a really bad business decision. The concentration of gearhead/audiophiles in the Phish (et al) community is significant. The absence of proper LivePhish integration is 100% costing you customers, sending them instead to Sonos and other options that have some way to broadcast LP to their gear. Rather than ignoring this community, one would think you would be doing your best to address their needs.

The patience of those asking for this for years is commendable, but from what I can tell, messages in this obscure board (which almost no one reads) doesn't not seem to be enough to motivate Bluesound to solve the problem. In the absence of some response here, and a real commitment to solve this, I suggest we take to the socials, where we can generate far more attention to this glaring gap in the BluOS ecosystem.

All to say, hoping that isn't necessary, and that Bluesound can finally get this sorted.

Thanks (and take care of your shoes!).

@David your feedback is spot on. I haven't purchased a single Bluesound product since 2019 as I haven't seen the need to invest in additional speaker zones when I'm STILL unable to stream LivePhish music to any Bluesound devices on my network. Instead, I've actually purchased a Sonos Port for my main listening room and a Sonos One for another room.

good news, the latest LivePhish app update, seems to resolve the issues with airplay directly to the node.

Holy mother of divine god. It does work! Just in time for Spring tour. Hallelujah!!

Would love to get an update on a LivePhish integration! As others have said, this should be fairly straightforward given that it’s built on the same platform as Nugs.

Dave - It’s done. It now works as of 9 months ago.

Thanks Adam - I saw that airplay is working. I guess I’m still hoping for an actual app integration. Does airplay degrade livephish’s quality at all?

  • Adam Beal

Ah, not sure about that, Dave.  If Airplay degrades the quality, these old ears sure can't tell that!  I've seen too many shows over the years...  It works great for me.

Does anyone have a fix for Android users who can't use airplay? Still waiting...

Astonishingly the answer remains bluetooth... I just cannot figure out why they haven't sorted this out one way (proper integration) or another (chromecast)....
