Node 2021 refuses to add certain songs to playlist imported from iTunes
BeantwortetAfter much trial and error, I've finally managed to find a workable and easy way to import all my (approx 120) iTunes playlists in to the Node, previously I'd struggled to get them populated but that's now resolved.
However, there are 2 specific songs that will not add to their playlist however I try (perhaps more, but these are the only 2 I've noticed).
My situation:
I have all the Kate Bush studio albums in iTunes as lossless ALAC files. I have made a playlist in iTunes that takes 12 of these songs to replicate her compilation album "The Whole Story". The m3u file created is below:
#EXTM3U
\Kate Bush\The Whole Story\01 Wuthering Heights [New Vocal].m4a
\Kate Bush\Hounds Of Love\05 Cloudbusting.m4a
\Kate Bush\The Kick Inside\05 The Man With The Child In His Eye.m4a
\Kate Bush\Never For Ever\11 Breathing.m4a
\Kate Bush\The Whole Story\05 Wow.m4a
\Kate Bush\Hounds Of Love\02 Hounds Of Love.m4a
\Kate Bush\Hounds Of Love\01 Running Up That Hill (A Deal With.m4a
\Kate Bush\Army Dreamers [Single]\01 Army Dreamers.m4a
\Kate Bush\The Dreaming\01 Sat In Your Lap.m4a
\Kate Bush\Experiment IV [Single]\01 Experiment IV.m4a
\Kate Bush\The Whole Story\11 The Dreaming.m4a
\Kate Bush\The Whole Story\12 Babooshka.m4a
In BluOS the playlist has 10 of these songs present in Library-Playlists, but Running Up That Hill and Hounds Of Love REFUSE to appear in the BluOS playlist! The paths are correct, the file names are correct, the files play absolutely fine when I search for them in the Node, so I know they are there, and they live in exactly the same folder as Cloudbusting, which is the other song from that same album that's in this playlist (and that appears in the Node playlist).
I've tried making other test playlists with those 2 offending songs plus others and importing them to the Node, but again those same 2 songs won't appear in the playlist!
Has anyone encountered this situation before where certain songs, for no logical reason you can see, refuse to show up in the BluOS playlist?
Thanks :-)

.M4P files will never show due to protection - this was removed from iTunes around 2011... but these are M4A files and have no DRM.
Check your file permissions on your Macbook; https://support.bluos.net/hc/en-us/articles/360000485508

Thanks, I'm not sure those articles are relevant to my issue though. The Node can index the files, I can play them through the node if for example I search for them and play, or search for their album and play that.
It's just that those 2 particular songs refuse to appear in the playlist that was imported from an .m3u file, even though the file paths and file names are confirmed as accurate and consistent with the other file paths in the .m3u file that do import correctly.
I have however checked the file permissions of the offending songs and they are the same as other songs that are also part of the .m3u playlist which do appear fine in the playlist when imported.

Worth mentioning also that I've tried re-indexing, and I've also tried a full index build and neither makes a difference. The m3u file code I showed in my first post creates this Library playlist that has 2 songs missing (Hounds of Love and Running Up That Hill which should be tracks 6 and 7).
Here's the folder where the offending 2 songs live, you can see they're in the same folder as Cloudbusting which does appear in the playlist properly, and it shows that the m3u text in my first post does have the correct file names for those 2 songs.

I have escalated your issue to our Support Crew for a closer look - they will be in touch but will likely ask for an event log.

Hi, thanks. However.... just to let you know that I seem to have resolved this with the nuclear option of re-ripping the 2 files from the CD and replacing my existing files with the new ones and now they appear in the playlist.
So despite the security properties of the old files all looking normal and consistent with other files, there was clearly something different about them that was preventing them from being added to playlists, whilst at the same time being readable and playable by the Node

Awesome news!
I will cancel the existing Support Request - if however, anything should arise - we are a click away in the app under Help, Send Support Request (to send us that log file I mentioned).
