NODE (N130) - Fixed volume won't stay
BeantwortetI have a two week old NODE N130. I'm outputting to an external DAC, a Danafrips Ares II using USB. The NODE is on the latest firmware, and sounding fine.
It seems, on a new day when I go into settings, it's back on variable volume. I have to hit the reset icon to get at the fixed volume, to again reset back to fixed. Is there a way to make the fixed volume stick or permanent? I am never going to need variable volume for my setup. Maybe I'm missing something?

Please contact your 3rd party DAC manufacturer to resolve this issue. The 3rd party DAC has a DDC process and is reporting back via USB to the NODE to allow for volume control.

Thanks Tony, I just sent Alvin Chee, owner of Vinshine Audio the information. I will report back.

Tony, I heard back from Alvin (response below). It looks like, unless there's something we can change in the NODE? I'm stuck with this happening. It's just an inconvenience, something I have to get used to, not a huge deal.
Response from Alvin,
"DENAFRIPS USB input volume control is fixed for bit perfect operation. It applies to all operating system, i.e. Linux, Mac, Windows, when the device is connected via USB cable to the DAC. The volume control will always be max. Can you try that?"

Hi Tom
Nope - I have spoken with our Product Development Team about this - unfortunately not... some other boutique DAC companies have since been able to resolve on their end.

No problem, just an inconvenience.
Thanks,
