APPLE TV through HDMI ARC

I have a powernode 2i and it's connected to my SONY TV HDMI arc. I have an APPLE TV which is connected on the other HDMI input and I use my phone to control and play apple music to the apple tv.

Question: using the HDMI arc on apple TV, am i unlocking the lossless /hires or not?

  That is a question for Apple and depends what the AppleTV is sending to SONY TV. The POWERNODE will playback whatever the SONY TV sends it (up to 24/192 and/or DOLBY TrueHD)

  Check your MacBook Sound Settings in System Preferences to see if this is possible.

  my macbook pro has usbc and 3.5mm only. I do have adapter though for usb and hdmi. I'm wondering If I can output the audio to the powernode 2i without using airplay. So, I'm thinking it should be wired but I don't know the setup.

  Check your MacBook Sound Settings in System Preferences to see if this is possible.
