    Hi Gertjan

    Nothing you can do on the Bluesound side but most router interfaces allow you to control this by adding specific guidelines in their user interface. Netgear is usually really good at this and why people go with them. Check your Netgear Orbi or Netgear nighthawk App to register the MAC Address of your FLEXes to configure this. The MAC Address of your player is available in Help, Diagnostics of the BluOS App.

    Thanks for your reply, clear. However; the Netgear Orbi (to my knowledge; and believe me I've looked in every possible setting) does not support this. You can fix a mac address to an IP address, but not to a specific WiFi band. That was the reason to turn to Bluesound for help.

    So I guess I'll have to live with the occasional drop-out (as the units as well as the Orbi are wall-mounted relocating is not an easy workaround either). 

    Just in case your software developers get bored during another lockdown or something, maybe you can add it to the wish list... :-) ?

    Picking up this old discussion as I occasionally encounter the same issue as described by the original poster, at least with Hi-Res files, which would easily be solved if the Pulse stuck to 2.4 ghz.

    Have there been any developments since two years ago, if not a feature allowing the user to select 2.4 or 5ghz, then a feature whereby the Pulse would automatically switch back to 2.4ghz when the signal strength drops below a given threshold (e.g. -65 dBm)?

    No

    As stated previously, this would be controlled by your router and not the client and would go against agreed upon network standards.

    Consult your router documentation to manually adjust channels or disable band steering.

    Thanks Tony, but like for the original poster my Netgear router does not offer this feature. Thanks for making clear there were no positive developments here.

    I would review the Netgear documentation again or contact Netgear support as it is possible based on the router end using those exact standards we adhere to as well.
