MACOS MONTEREY LOCAL SHARING ISSUES?
BeantwortetSince I've upraded the Mac Mini to Monterey, I had problems with creating a local share in various ways. First, after creation of a local share consisting of a main (FLAC) file with 4 subfiles everything works OK. However after switching power off and on again, the local share is not recognized. The following steps were tried to resolve the problem:
1) explicitly make the subfiles known as local share subfiles. No result. After a couple of attempts, it appears that new subfiles were created by BLUOS, in the format "existing" file name with -1, -2, -3 etc added to the end of the filename.
2) Factory reset both controller and players, This worked ok, however one speaker could not be connected. It went through the connexion process, in the end turned blinking green, turned blue for one second and turned steady green after that. Tried various ways to get the player working again,
3) After switching power off and on, I had to reindex the library to gain access which got lost again after power off and on.
4) testing with an external library did not resolve anything. Testing with a wired connexion for the faulty player worked OK. However this introduced another problem, i.e. the player could not be grouped, and got stuck during the upgrade proces. The update worked ok through the URL10.1.2.3, however did not solve anything.
The only major change that took place was the upgrade of MACOS to Monterey, its just a wild guess whether this is causing one or more issues as mentioned above.

Upgrading your MacBook would not affect BluOS in any way as BluOS is independently run on the Players themselves...
1) The files were copied on the Mac, likely by a drag and drop and merge in the Finder interface of your Mac
2) Not sure why a factory reset was performed but the green LED indicates your Players are not connecting to the network - please see www.bluesound.com/setup - sounds like you entered the password wrong though
3) If your MacBook is off, BluOS cannot read files that are stored on the MacBook - this is why you couldn't see the files. Likely a reindex happened when the MacBook was off then a reindex when the MacBook was turned on
4) Your player was not connected to the network properly (see point 2)
The only change was not that Monteray was installed - you mentioned you factory reset your player - that was the cause of the issues you saw... if however, you are still having problems with your macOS Share - please select Help, SendSupport Request in the App so we may take a closer look - or - contact Apple Support to see what changed in Monteray regarding SMB file sharing.

Managed to get the Player working by using the wizard until it started looping in the UPGRADE fase. I left this running and finished the job by using the Player update function from URL 10.1.2.3 This did the job.
Fyi, the MAC is never switched off during playing music. Tried power off and on as suggested, no results with the issue of local shares. Sadly enough the share problem is reproducable. I will log a support ticket.
