Popping sound when changing input or track - Powernode n330
BeantwortetHi,
I just purchased (yesterday) a Powernode n330 and nearly every time I change a track or an input a 'popping' sound comes out of the speakers, is this normal??

OFFICIAL COMMENT UPDATE;
Thanks for your patience - we are aware it only happens with the SUB attached and investigating route causes. We are publishing a new maintenance release to the current BluOS 3.16 on December 28th but will tell you in advance that the fix is not in it. We will however update as soon as we can.
Please feel free to watch this thread for updates as they become available. Thanks for your patience...

That is not normal on most speakers. Please re-trim your speaker cables. If problems persist, please select Help, Send Support Request in the Bluesound App so we may take a closer look.

HiThanks for the reply, I tried to re-trim the cables and the popping sound is still there. after searching last night it seems to be a known issue. I found a few threads about this on this forum and others. It also happens when the file changes bit rate, for example using Qobuz it pops when the file goes from CD to HR.Basically, it pops when something changes - input, preset, file bit-rateI'm super disappointed as I saved for months to be able to afford this :(I’ll contact support to see if they can solve the issue0

Same issue here. Helpdesk told me this is normal. The popping is not very loud so I try not to give it attention.

Hiya
Weird, I was told that it was a known bug and was going to get fixed very soon in an update. This did not happen with my previous Node 2i.
If this continues after the update I’m going to return it. I’m not paying this much money for something that pops and clicks every time a new song plays. It's crazy and extremely annoying hahaha.. I've also read online that people have been downgrading to the previous version and that solves the issue.

Hi Michel (et al)
I wouldn't say 'normal' - what you are hearing is a bit rate change that you shouldn't hear. Try retrimming your speaker connectors, checking your cable settings.

Hi Tony,
I did contact and this is the response I received
"Thank you for contacting the Bluesound Support Crew.
This, among other reported issues - are currently being investigated since the latest BluOS release.
We apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your patience while the issues introduced since the latest update are resolved.
In the meantime, you can monitor our updates through this community forum.

In the brighter news, the update to fix this is already on its way and already one step out the door. Expect its release soon.
Thanks for #LivingHiFi.

Tony - any update on this? I have the same issue (loud thump when changing tracks at different resolutions). However, the noise/pop emanates from my subs. There is no noise when the subs are not connected.

Hi Lennie, since my first post I have realised the same thing, the sound was coming out of the sub and not the speakers. I have spoken to Nishchal (bluesound support) and they know about the issue
"After speaking with our engineering team regarding your specific issue they have been able to replicate it here in our labs. Our engineering team will be looking into this further and be providing a fix for this issue in a future firmware update."
So not sure how long it will take to fix. I've just stopped using my sub until its fixed which isn't a great solution.

Thanks LD. Very helpful. Yes, it is frustrating. Such a great product besides this subout issue, which is key for me.

Hi Tony, thanks for the update. It's pretty weird that bluesound are knowingly selling a £850 faulty product??
I wouldn't have purchased it if I knew this was happening.
Sorry if that comes out rude but i find it pretty crazy.
Its got a SUBout but you can't use it hahahaha

Thanks for your patience and understanding
The popping sound you are hearing snuck its way in as a software bug during a recent update. Our Quality Assurance team is investigating the root cause and will resolve it as quickly as they can. I hate to admit it but this does happen from time to time with any integrated smart technology product, not just Bluesound. Admittedly it is embarrassing but we will resolve it as quickly as we can.
We do apologise for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the transparency Tony.

Same for me. Just purchased a new Powernode N330 yesterday with a KEF KC62 sub. Get the popping sound as well. Any update?

Running into the same issue with my KEF KC62 sub.

I have the same problem. After switching on and off from the network , after switching from one song to another , there are pops in the speakers . There is also an unresolved problem with the touch button that does not work to turn on the player , but the player turns on by itself after 40 seconds after turning off . I wrote about it in a separate message and a message in tech.support . For a lot of money - it's a big headache.

Popping for me aswell with my new Powernode N330 during streaming and optical in connections (TV and CD player). Is there an update please? No sub being used, popping in main speakers.

Same here. Recently started. No sub.

Any update on this issue? It has been 3 months.

No

Still no update? Very very annoying when browsing Netflix for example.. Everytime a trailer starts, the popping starts.

Thank you for your patience.
Last I heard, QA, Development, and Engineering departments are still looking into it.
We do apologize for the inconvenience.-1 -
Hello, I have the same problem. I spend a lot of money for a good audio system and I find the popping sound between songs not nice. I hope you fix the problem soon

I had the same problem. They sent me an answer saying it's a known big they are solving. I don't care, I didn't pay this amount of money for a faulty by design product.

Almost 3 months ago since the last reply from Mark. Any updates on when we can expect the fix? It’s still a very anoying issue.
1 -
It will not be fixed, Michel. Just do like me and return your faulty-by-design product and get a good amp from another brand.

Any progress on this subject?
Having the same issue here and it annoys me so much that I switched off the subwoofer.
Which should not be necessary.
