Unable to send full-range signal to both mains and subwoofer?
BeantwortetHi all, I'm hoping someone can give me a hand here....
I have a Powernode 2i connected to two main speakers (via the speaker terminals) and a subwoofer (via the RCA sub-out). I wish to send a full (unfiltered) signal to both my mains and the subwoofer so I can use the controls on the subwoofer itself to set the crossover. After reading all the posts I could find and using Audio Tool on my system, I've come to this understanding of how things seem to work:
- There does not seem to be any way to send a truly unfiltered signal to the sub. But, if I turn the BluOS subwoofer toggle to "on" I can set the subwoofer crossover to maximum (200 Hz) which is essentially unfiltered as far as the sub is concerned. This is good in that it allows me to use the crossover on subwoofer itself to set a lower value (e.g.,120 Hz). But, unfortunately, with the toggle "on" the signal to the mains is now high-pass filtered at 120 Hz, and I don't want that.
- If I turn the BluOS subwoofer toggle to "off" a full-range signal now goes to the mains. That's great. But, unfortunately, *now* the subwoofer is low-pass filtered at 80 Hz, regardless of what the slider was set at with the toggle "on". This frequency is too low since it's below the frequency I'd like to set on the sub itself. In other words, even if I turn the toggle "on", set the crossover to 200 Hz (or whatever), then turn the toggle back to "off" the sub crossover reverts to 80 Hz and doesn't "stick" at what I've set it to with the toggle "on".
Anyone know a way to send full range signals to both the mains and subwoofer or at least a full range signal to the mains and a signal to the sub that's filtered at a user-selectable frequency that's well above the 80 Hz default? Thanks!! --Mark

Hello Mark,
Even with the Subwoofer switch set to OFF, the SUBW OUT on your POWERNODE should still send signal to the sub at the set crossover. Please reach out to our support crew with the make/model of your sub as well via Help > Send Support Request in the BluOS app so they may investigate.
