Node Digital Out Low Volume Output

I am using Node N130 with a devialet expert (connected via coaxial cable). The output level is fixed and MQA external DAC is on (the latter is irrelevant I think). My samsung tv is also connected to my Node and I am sending PCM from the TV to Node (via optical). However I realized that I am losing close to 10db when I use the node between the TV and Devialet. I don't understand why this would be. I would guess that the digital signal is passed through the Node thus having the Node on the way shouldn't make a difference. I hope I am missing something, can somebody help?
