Affect of minidsp dirac live room correction on multi-room syncing
BeantwortetHi,
If I place a miniDSP dirac live room correction unit between my bluesound (analog out) and the (analog in, obviously) power amplifier, will the timing/synchronization quality of playback be adversely affected.
Getting into specifics I have a Monitor Audio IMS-4, 4 channel bluesound streamer, and a I'd like to use a miniDSP DDRC-88A off the analog outputs of the IMS-4 to provide room correction for our house.
Cheers

Hi Casey
We don't know. There is no way we can verify that either as we cannot control if the external DDRC will add delay or not.
I will tell you that NAD Electronics products that are BluOS Enabled (such as the NAD M10 or C658) which support DIRAC do sync perfectly with Bluesound Players that do not have DIRAC so theoretically DIRAC will not add delay, but again we can not vouch for other third-party hardware.

I know this is an older post, but since I have a similar setup so I thought I'd post my experience. In my main system, I run the digital output of a Vault 2i to a miniDSP DDRC-22D (digital I/O), then to a Benchmark DAC. I have noticed no effect on sync with the Bluesound setup in the next room. I doubt that the A/D and D/A conversions in your miniDSP add significant delay.
