Reindex a Single Share or Play Non Indexed Music
I have a collection of 180,000 songs (most are on a shared folder on a remotely located NAS) and it takes 2+ days to index the entire collection with the Powernode N330, I'm constantly adding new music onto a local "New Music" share and when it starts to get large I move it to the main collection, I can't just reindex the "New Music" share the Powernode reindex's the entire collection and I can't play directly from the music folder structure until it's indexed.
So I would like to either be able to just reindex a single share or play directly from the unindexed folder, are either of these options possible? Otherwise I have to wait 2+ days to play any new music I download.

Hi raf,
I'm not sure what you mean about "remotely located NAS", but reindexing no matter where it is located shouldn't take more than 10-20 minutes with a collection of your size.
Rebuilding index, with my collection of 250' takes about 4 hours.
Reindexing or Rebulding one share or playing from unindexed folders are not possible. -
Thanks for the reply Bjørn, the NAS is located about 800kms away, I have a share on my local PC of the Music folder on the NAS over the internet and share this local folder with BluOS, so I don't know if the internet is slowing down the indexing but I can reindex in MediaMonkey much quicker than BluOS.
Even if it was quicker it seems ridiculous that I have to wait even 20 minutes to be able to play new songs, at least in MediaMonkey I can play directly from the folder.

Hi Seppi,
No issues with playing from the remote NAS, even hi-res 24/96 files are fine, I will eventually have a full local copy of the NAS files and sync the 2 but haven't got around to that as yet, Powernode is connected via ethernet.
It would just be so much simpler just to be able to play directly from the folder it really makes no sense that that isn't possible, while using a seperate USB device works it really shouldn't be necessary.
As the PC isn't located near the Powernode I think the best solution will be to continue to use the much better library features in MediaMonkey and get a wireless DAC such as the NAD Wireless DAC 2 or Audioengine D2 and connect that to the Powernode and not use BlueOS which is a shame but BlueOS seems to lack some fairly basic playback & library features.

Just giving Roon a try, while you can't play directly from folders either at least you can reindex individual shares but it monitors the shares in real time and adds new music automatically and allows you play music as it adds it rather than having to wait until the indexing has finished like with BluOS.
