Powernode 2021 and Dolby

I just received my Bluesound Powernode 2021 amp today which I use in a 2.1 configuration. 
When I play games or watch movies I notice the app displays I am playing Dolby content. Does this mean the amp is outputting Dolby through my speakers?

I’m asking because the Bluesound website makes it sound like the only way to output Dolby is if you use the flex 2i speakers as surrounds. 

Can anyone clarify?

  The POWERNODEs with HDMI can still decode Dolby 2-channel without rears. Cannot do surround without rears however.

  I will bring to front this question again:

  So you set your TV ARC Output to Dolby Digital and the Powernode (2i with HDMI or N330) makes the downmix to 2.1 and bring it to the Loudspeakers?

  And then after a upgrade with rear speakers it will do 4.1 output?

  I look forward to buy a powernode and I'm thinking about the Dolby compatibility of the actual model and the older model (witch normally is good enough for me I think)

  Hi,

  thank you for the answer. Thats cool, so the Powernode 2i with HDMI is my choice and it does the Dolby decoding when I watch a movie.
