In the Apple Home App you named this player POWERNODE-you mmight want...

Please delete the Player from the Apple Home App then factory reset the Bluesound Player.

Hi Seppi, thanks for the reply. The only Apple devices on my network are the iPhone and MacBook Pro that I use for work. Neither of those devices has been used to connect to the PowerNode.  The only devices I use to access it are my personal Android phone and Windows laptop.

Hi Tony, thanks for your reply.  In case it wasn't clear from my question, I've never used the Apple Home App, nor have I connected to the PowerNode from an Apple Device.

I also never plan to use any Apple device to connect to it, which is why I asked if this feature can be disabled since it's not terribly helpful to me to allow the device to be renamed with no ability to change it back from a non-Apple device.  Perhaps there's nothing to be done about that, but it's good feedback for the Engineering team.

"I'm sorry, you can't change this" is not a great user experience, and in cases like mine where someone could have renamed the device to something offensive, forcing a device reset as a means of simply changing the name is a tad inconvenient.

Hi Noah - the issue or problem you are having is related to Apple Home and part of Apple AirPlay which cannot be disabled as per Apple's requirements.

You can change this, in the Apple Home App.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

    Hi Tony,

Thank you for your prompt reply.  I do not have, nor do I use the Apple Home App, so it's not really a solution for me.   I do understand about Apple's restrictions though.  I guess I'll just hope it doesn't keep happening since constantly resetting the device isn't a great option.

    Thank you,
    -Noah

It will continue to rename itself until you find the Apple Home source and delete it. Speaking from experience...

Perhaps you inadvertently did it playing with Apple Home or someone else in your home tried it.

See https://support.bluos.net/hc/en-us/articles/360013227054 on how BluOS works with Apple Home.

Hello all, I verified that neither of my devices is using the home app. My house was empty this week as we were 200+ miles away on vacation. When I returned, it had been renamed again.

More details: I'd renamed the room to be "Living Room" before I left for vacation. I made sure the Home app hasn't been used (I've never even used them) on any Apple device. I verified everything was in order when I packed my car and left.

Upon returning, I could no longer connect via the BluOS Controller app. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app to discover the player, which shows the name has been changed from "Living Room" to "POWERNODEy y look uu mm my-172cji". (I'm on my Android phone and can't see a way to share a screenshot)

Note that any devices that can even run Home are still OFF and in my car and no one has been in my house from the time I left on Tuesday AM to the time I returned today.

Interestingly enough, this time I was able to change the name back in the BluOS Controller app after the uninstall/reinstall.
