Agh! Amazon Integration Frustration!
BeantwortetHi Hi!
LOVE the new gen Node!
BUT... I bought it specifically to use with Amazon HD since it is one of few devices that is capable of delivering a bit perfect stream to my DAC. It sounds great!
PROBLEM -> You are kicking the can down the road when facing the lack of integration with Amazon HD. This is not an Amazon problem... it's your problem! The node has the ability to be THE go to device for Amazon HD over the entire market right now. But because you can't work with Amazon to solve the API issues, its basically crippled. TRAGIC.
You can't tell me that, me, as one individual consumer, has more pull with Amazon than YOU... Bluesound... 11mil in revenue - dozens of employees - operating in a 20 bill industry - and advertising the device as Amazon HD compatible.
Listen to your customers. We need YOU to take responsibility. We need YOU to get Amazon to the table. We need YOU to realize the full potential of the Node. It is your baby... letting it sit in a crippled state for years is a SHAME.
Do NOT pass the buck on this. Either integrate or lose. It has been YEARS since all of these excuses you post when confronted with the issue. So what's changed?
Are you advocating for alternate solutions? An "Amazon connect" feature? What, besides pointing fingers, have you done to fix the poor integration?
Using the node with Amazon daily provides the best listening experience I've ever enjoyed. Flipping between the Amazon app and the BlueOS app is one of the most frustrating tasks I've ever experienced. Guess which company I SEE having the problem... BlueOS. Regardless of your finger pointing... the customer only sees BlueOS as causing the frustration.
The time to step up is now. Streaming is exploding. Fix this mess now and you'll be reaping the benefits for years to come.
Can anyone that shares my frustration please chime in below. I'm not sure how many of us need to speak together before this is solved... but every opinion counts!
Thank you for taking the time to address my concerns!
Best,
-B

Thanks for taking the time to write Brian and provided your feedback. It has been passed along to our Product Development Team. As mentioned though, for Amazon to integrate their service into third-party devices such as your BluOS Players, they provide the API Blueprint. As mentioned we do in fact lobby with companies such as Amazon to create a better experience but it is also important that you, their consumer equally let them know why you may consider other integrated alternatives such as TIDAL or endpoint solutions such as Spotify or Apple Lossless for a better user experience.

I have to agree with Brian. I stopped using Amazon Music HD as I couldn’t tolerate using it through Bluesound even though it is a good music service. Compared to my previous experience of using extremely well integrated Bluesound services such as Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify and Deezer the Amazon integration is terrible and nobody seems to care! There is now another problem concerning the recent new Apple Music lossless service. It was surely obvious that changes were needed to obtain the full lossless experience and yet here we are being told that Airplay is the only way to listen through Bluesound products. The whole thing becomes a waste of time and the customers are left disappointed. There should be more dialogue between the streaming services and Bluesound in my opinion. It shouldn’t be the responsibility of the customers to keep chasing it.

I use my Node with Amazon HD and agree the quality is excellent. But I don't find it particularly frustrating; am I missing something? BlueOS presents a useable version of my Amazon library and personal playlists. The only downside I can see is having to go back to Amazon Music to edit.

I agree with Davywhizz. For my uses in some ways I prefer the Amazon experience on the Bluesound app to the native Android Amazon app. I have my favourite playlists which show up fine - and albums I've downloaded show up too.
I understand that you might need to use the native app for certain higher level things like editing etc - but then you should see the playlists on the Bluesound app.
And - of course - if Amazon do not supply the API endpoints then there is nothing BS can do. I'd put the question to Amazon about providing API calls which can carry out editing etc.
