USB invoked buzzing
BeantwortetHi, I’ve bought a bunch of nodes for a home WiFi network. If I use a dedicated USB power adapter, and power thru an amplifier, sounds great. However, if I use an adapter with multiple USB power outs, I get a buzzing, no matter if the quality of the power supply. I’m (sort of) happy to use multiple USB PSUs, but it’s not tidy and I find it difficult to believe it’s necessary. My assumption is there’s some kind of electrical noise from the node, which interferes with the USB PDU… help…

Hi Keith
Bluesound NODEs have a floating ground for sonic performance reasons. When using different power supplies, you are unintentionally creating a ground loop. When you powered it through the amplifier you have grounded your NODE.
Please use the power supply provided in the NODE to power your Bluesound NODE. If you are still experiencing problems using this, please ensure you are using the same wall outlet or at least circuit as your amplifier. Our Support Crew can help diagnose ground loop causes and will be happy to assist further at support@bluesound.com for 1 on 1 troubleshooting.
