Static sounds
Hi, I connected my KEF LS50 Wireless 2 (active speakers) to a Bluesound N132 (to apply Dirac). Since then I hear a loud and sharp static tic over the speaker every couple of songs. Seems like a grounding issue?
Any thoughts on how to best solve that? Both deveices are connected to a grounded socket.

Try adjusting the gain in the Dirac volume calibration screen and if that helps.

Didn't apply Dirac yet...

Ah! Test with something like a radio stream or known 16/24 bit track.

OK will try radio stream for a while now

Just some thoughts… If you are using optical for the connection it may be faulty, noticeable on the higher resolution streams. Do check the LS50 input specs to make sure they can handle 24/192.
Edit I looked at the Kef website : Optical up to 96kHz/24bit

The static happens with both coax and toslink. And yes, 24/192 is supported (though not through toslink). I switch from coax to toslink to see if it could solve the static issue

So ignore optical as it’s not fully compatible, there is an Audio Clock Trim option in BluOS that may help. Also try replaygain off if enabled.
Beyond that when you next hear the static use the BluOS App and log a support ticket.

Also tried that already.... Must say that I haven't hear the static tics yet since I'm on radio.... Bit too soon to tell, but since it occurs between tracks, it looks like it has something to do with bitrate/samplerate incompatility.... But again, it also occurs through coax.

See if there are any updates for the speakers available. Yes bitrate/sample was what I was thinking all along.
If only between tracks, then it’s possible the noise is caused by the speakers adapting to the resolution changes. A few tracks of different bit/sample rates would pinpoint this.

I actually only feed the speakers with streaming audio, so would need to look into that. But I agree that seems to be the issue. Now we only need to find the solution... ;-)

Got it! I set the option “Fixed output level” and no more static. Downside is that I can only control volume through the Kef app, where I first could control music and volume in the Spotify app.
And the more serious issue is that the cat that is staying here for a couple of weeks just put here nail through the surround of one of the speakers…. :-(
Audio is a tough hobby….

Glad you found a solution.
