Node X Analog IN - does it digitize?

Hi everyone!  I had a question about my Node X (maybe this also applies to other Node devices too): If I hook something up to the analog input, is it getting digitized?  i.e., is the input going through an ADC and then a DAC, or is it more like a passthrough?

  Yes, I can confirm that the analogue input is digitised at 24/96.
