Vault 2i, steady red light = bad power supply
BeantwortetOut of nowhere, my vault started showing steady red light, nothing working, was not in the middle of an upgrade, etc, I rebooted, hard reboot (disconnected power), contacted tech support, they had me do this and that and came back with the power supply is shot = pretty much useless vault. 6 years old. I'm wondering if there was a spike/brown-out when I wasn't home and didn't notice the red light until later in the evening. But I have all my hi-fi gear plugged into a Panamax M5300 power conditioner. I've never had anything blown in the time I've had that - or any other type of power conditioner/surge protectors.
Anyone else experience this kind of joy? I'm not very happy.

Hi Larry,
I see that you have submitted a support request with us in regards to this matter. Please continue working with our support crew about this. -
I am having the same problem. Is there anything I can do? This is a pretty new Vault.

I’ve had the same problem with my vault that I’ve had for 5 years. Each time the BluoS support was little help and I had to send to an outside vendor. This has happened 3 times for me and it has cost more than I initially paid for the unit. Good. Luck and please post if support was able to solve your problem. It seems to happen every time I try to do an upgrade. I a several updates behind but I’m afraid to do another one for fear it will require another expensive repair by a third party. When the vault works good it is wonderful. However when it doesn’t, I’ve never received any successful help from support and had to send it to an outside repair site. The reliability of the vault has a lot to be desired, unfortunately.

Hi Donnally -
Good luck. My (tone-deaf) response I received was basically;
- power supply is dead - the fantastic 1 year warranty has expired. oops.
- we can't fix, we're not techie people, but we have two partners you can send it to and they can take a look and "maybe" fix it. there is a fee to send it, a fee to diagnose (look at) it, a fee to fix - plus cost of parts, if possible, no guarantees of course and a fee to send it back.
- or, bluesound will sell me a refurbished vault for half MSRP. the MSRP literally increased (i think, can't remember) either $250 or $350 in the month that i was mulling this over. tariffs, greed, not sure, don't care. but at the moment, the current price of this thing is $2150, so half that, you do the math, for something that will last for who knows how long?
i doubt this will be published, i've written a review of this wonderful product when i was going through all this nonsense and they never published that one, so... anyway, i replaced this with a streamer and a cd transport/ripper from other vendors. for much less than even the cost of that refurb unit.
Donnally - i tried to see if i can DM you on here but that doesn't seem possible.

I have logged a case in the hope they can do something for me. I got this one in Dec, '23, so I've had it 2 1/2 years. It replaced the one I'd gotten 5 1/2 years earlier when the same thing happened.
